Mental Health Week is part of a national mental health promotion campaign held in October each year. The purpose of this is to engage communities in activities that promote mental health and well being and also raise awareness and understanding about mental illness, and how it impacts on the lives of people in our community. At EC in the lead up to this week, mental health awareness and understanding will be a focus at our end of Term assembly on Wednesday 25 Sept. Following this gathering, we will share in food and music. There will be calico on a wall where students can complete the following sentence: “I care for and support others by…….”. This will then be displayed as a visual reminder. The motto for Mental Health Week is “WE ALL HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY” and we hope that everyone is involved in the activities on the day to show support for this important issue.
